این دانشمند برجسته علوم اعصاب جهان و استاد افتخاری دانشگاه علوم پزشكی تهران در ادامه به ساخت مركز علوم اعصاب در چین اشاره كرد و افزود: قرارداد ریاست این مركز -كه با پروفسور سمیعی خواهد بود- منعقد شده است و این از افتخارات ایران است كه یك ایرانی برای رهبری مركز جراحی اعصاب كشور چین، كشوری با جمعیتی میلیاردی انتخاب می شود.

پروفسور سمیعی ادامه داد: آموزش از افتخارات من است؛ از سال 1970 میلادی به اتاق عملی نرفته ام كه 30 بازدیدكننده نداشته باشم و عمل جراحی زنده نیازمند داشتن اعصاب قوی و مهارت كافی است.

بنا به تصویب هیات وزیران وقت استاد معین به عضویت فرهنگستان ایران نایل آمد. او كه بیش از نیمی از عمر خود را صرف تحقیق در زمینه ادبیات فارسی كرده بود، نسبت به تدوین فرهنگ نامه ای كه به فرهنگ فارسی معین معروف است همت گماشت.
